Through Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT), I had the honor of competing in SkillsUSA, a national organization that empowers students in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations through hands-on competitions and leadership experiences. I competed in the Digital Cinema Production category alongside my partner, where we were selected by our instructor to represent our school based on our work and collaboration. Together, we created and submitted a short film that won first place at the state level, held at Hershey Park, which advanced us to nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, where we earned second place in the country. Being part of SkillsUSA was more than a competition it was an exciting experience in teamwork, networking, and professional growth. It gave me the chance to meet passionate students from across the country as well as established producers with real experience working on major films and reminded me how valuable it is to be part of something bigger than yourself. You can view the films below.
